Oct. 13

A desk receptionist in Congressional Hall reported a student felt very sick and was vomiting. D.C. Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the student to Sibley Hospital.

Oct. 14

A resident assistant in Hughes Hall reported a student sick in her fifth-floor room. The student had a high fever. DCFD transported the student to Georgetown Children's Hospital.

A student reported property stolen from his vehicle in the northwest section of the Nebraska Avenue parking lot.

Housing and Dining staff in Anderson Hall reported the theft of contents from a package that was delivered in a United States Postal Service envelope.

Oct. 15

Housing and Dining staff reported a missing package from Anderson. UPS delivered the package to the Anderson front desk Sept. 17. It was discovered missing on Sept. 24, when the victim checked for the package and could not locate it.

Oct. 16

Facilities Management staff reported finding evidence of a fire, including ashes and burned newspapers, in the Sam Brown Garden between two benches outside of Constitution Hall. The fire appeared to have been extinguished for some time. Public Safety took photos and contacted the D.C. Fire Marshal's Office.

A student in the main quad was reported unconscious. Upon officers' arrival, the student was conscious, sitting on a bench and being supported by two friends. The student reported experiencing dizziness and a headache. DCFD transported the student to Sibley.

Oct. 17

A contractor for AU reported his ladder was stolen from an electrical closet inside the Kogod School of Business.

An administrative assistant for the School of Public Affairs' Department of Government office suites reported metal locking cabinets containing office supplies appeared to have been tampered with in an attempt to force them open. Nothing was seen missing from the cabinets. The Metropolitan Police Department filed a report.

A victim reported she lost her wallet and learned her credit card was used fraudulently. She last saw the wallet at the Jacobs Fitness Center Oct. 13. She first noticed it missing Oct. 15. She does not know where she may have lost it. Public Safety advised her to contact MPD.

A victim reported her wallet had been stolen. The victim left her wallet on a chair as she exited Payless Shoe Store in Tenleytown. It was gone when she returned to retrieve it. She cancelled her credit cards and found that no one had made fraudulent charges on them.

A victim reported one of four office chairs was stolen while she was away from her AU office.

Oct. 19

A smoke detector on the Letts Hall fourth floor activated the fire alarm. Residents evacuated the building. Burnt food was found in the fourth floor kitchen. DCFD was not needed to respond. Aramark was requested to bring fans to ventilate the room and residents reentered the building.

Oct. 20

A community member reported he may have lost two AU keys while jogging off campus.

A student reported being stuck in an elevator in Capital Hall. Public Safety and Facilities Management personnel responded. An elevator technician freed the student and stated he would take the elevator out of service for up to an hour. The student was not injured.

Two students collided with each other while playing soccer in Bender Arena. One of them injured his head and felt lightheaded. He refused medical assistance and signed a medical refusal form.

Oct. 21

A student in Leonard Hall reported experiencing vertigo and nausea. DCFD transported her to Sibley Hospital.

A student was stuck in an elevator in McDowell. Facilities Management was contacted and a Warfield and Sanford Elevator technician responded to the scene. The student was freed from the elevator uninjured.

Two AU laptops were stolen from a room in Bender Library. Public Safety and MPD filed reports.

An AU key to a room in Katzen Arts Center was accidentally dropped in an elevator shaft off-campus and was unable to be retrieved.
