Nov. 18

An officer noticed a stun gun and pepper spray in a student's handbag while conducting a bag check for a high profile event in the Ward Circle Building. The officer confiscated the items.

Nov. 20

A student reported receiving numerous harassing text messages and e-mails from his former girlfriend. The Metropolitan Police Department and Department of Public Safety officers contacted the suspect, informed her of the complaint and advised her not to attempt any additional contact with the student in the future.

A Washington College of Law student was vomiting and having difficulty breathing. D.C. Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the student to Sibley Hospital.

Nov. 21

A student biking along Massachusetts Avenue en-route to campus cut his leg when his foot slipped off his pedal. Public Safety officers provided first aid. The student refused medical transport and signed a medical refusal form.

A resident assistant discovered anti-Semitic graffiti in an Anderson Hall elevator. Public Safety officers took photographs and contacted Aramark to clean the graffiti.

Nov. 22

A resident director reported a heavily intoxicated student who was vomiting in Anderson. Police found the student to be conscious, semi-coherent and barely communicative. The student was combative and verbally abusive. The student also refused to cooperate with DCFD personnel. MPD responded. A resident director advised police the student could remain in the residence hall. Police cleared the scene.

A student in Letts Hall was heavily intoxicated and vomiting. He stated he consumed between six and eight shots of vodka in the residence halls. DCFD transported him to a hospital.

A resident director in Centennial Hall reported a heavily intoxicated and combative student who was non-compliant and hit her head on a toilet while vomiting. DCFD and EMS personnel responded to the situation. The student became belligerent and had to be placed on a stretcher by officers. At DCFD's request, officers responded to Sibley Hospital due to the student's combative behavior. Another student accompanied the sick person to the hospital. Officers confiscated a fake identification card from the sick student. Housing and Dining staff indicated Judicial Affairs and Mediation Services would handle the matter.

An officer responded to a fire alarm in Letts and discovered someone had maliciously pulled a manual pull station. The officer found no signs of smoke or fire. The officer reset the pull station and the alarm annunciator panel and allowed occupants to re-enter the building.

Nov. 23

Public Safety officers responded to a report of a student who was unconscious and covered with vomit in a toilet stall in Hughes Hall. The student did not respond to officers' attempts to rouse him. The student became conscious and alert while waiting for DCFD and EMS personnel to arrive. He said he did not know how long he had been on the bathroom floor and did not recall any details of his activities during the previous night. The student signed a medical refusal form, which the resident director approved. The student was escorted to his residence.

A student injured her ankle when she missed a step while walking downstairs in Mary Graydon Center. She signed a medical refusal form.

Officers let a student into a room in the Katzen Arts Center to retrieve his personal items. Once inside, the student claimed to have 24-hour access to the room and failed to comply with officer's request that he gather his belongings and leave the room. The student yelled at the officers and stated he wasn't leaving. Eventually, the student vacated the area. JAMS will handle the matter.

Nov. 24

A staff member in Letts lost consciousness for several minutes. The student was transported to Sibley.

Two community members reported that when they were about to leave their room in Hughes, a six-inch steak knife fell from the door and hit one of them on the shoulder. She was not injured. Both of them saw a second steak knife stuck in the ceiling by the doorway. There was a small slit in a bulletin board on the door. They pulled the second knife from the ceiling. A resident from across the hall reportedly advised them he noticed a knife stuck in her door earlier that morning.

Someone stole a GPS device from a parked, locked vehicle in the Sports Center Garage. The owner found the vehicle locked upon his return. There were no signs of forced entry. The victim filed a report with MPD.

An employee in the tunnel cut her finger on a tomato slicer. A Public Safety officer provided basic first aid. The employee refused to be transported to a hospital and advised that a co-worker would take her to Washington Hospital Center. The employee signed a medical refusal form.

Nov. 25

A student slipped on a wet floor and twisted her knee as she was leaving Tenley Cafe. She noticed a "wet floors" sign on one side of the floor just prior to the stairs. She walked to the side of the floor that had no signs and thought the floor was dry. She refused an offer to have an ambulance summoned. She accepted transport from an officer to the Student Health Center.

The front of an AU van struck the rear of another vehicle that stopped at a traffic light in Ward Circle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

An employee reported someone stole his iPod from his desk in Bender Library.

Someone cut a bicycle lock and stole a student's bicycle from the Katzen Arts Center parking area. Public Safety and MPD created a report on the incident.

Nov. 26

A Public Safety officer noticed graffiti on the exterior of the Katzen Arts Center. Officers contacted Aramark to have it removed.

An unknown individual damaged a sprinkler system in Anderson, which caused water to gush out and activated the building's fire alarm system. Officers responded, evacuated the building and found no sign of smoke or fire. Water flooded a hallway and several rooms on the building's third, fourth and fifth floors. The resident director was notified of the situation. Facilities Management shut the water off. Aramark was contacted to clean the area. Officers silenced the fire alarm, reset the elevator and allowed occupants to enter the building.

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person and discovered a homeless individual in need of money for a drug addiction outside of Anderson. Transportation was requested from a hypothermia shelter hotline. While waiting for the transportation, the individual became impatient and irate with officers, who barred the individual from AU property.

Dec. 1

An AU employee discovered the letter "R" was missing from a wall display area in the Tavern and notified Facilities Management.

Someone stole an AU purchasing card and made fraudulent charges on the card. AU and MPD officers responded to the scene.

Dec. 2

Anti-gay graffiti was discovered on a windowsill in a conference room in Mary Graydon Center.
