College of Arts and Sciences Dean Kay Mussell will take the post of interim senior vice provost and dean of academic affairs in June, despite her earlier announcement in October that she would be beginning a sabbatical after the close of the academic year, according to a Feb. 20 e-mail to the campus community from Provost Scott Bass.
In October, Bass announced Mussell would be stepping down after a decade as CAS dean.
Mussell's experience will contribute to the implementation of AU's strategic plan. Mussell has helped to design the General Education and Honors programs, according to the e-mail.
