International brief

An elderly milkman pleaded guilty Friday to supplying marijuana to customers in the northwestern England town of Burnely, the Associated Press reported.

Robert Holding, 72, entered the plea to charges that he regularly dropped off marijuana at the homes of certain customers, as well as milk.

Prosecutor Sarah Statham said in the article that Holding delivered the drugs to elderly customers with aches and pains. The customers ordered the drugs, which were delivered with the milk, by leaving notes on their doorsteps, according to the AP.

A judge gave Holding a suspended sentence of three years in jail, the AP reported.
