Hackers change Texas sign

A miscreant hacked into an electronic road sign in Lubbock, Texas, early Friday morning to send his or her own message to passing drivers, KCBD-TV reported.

The sign originally read "Frankford Exit Next Right," but ended up reading "OMG THE BRITISH R COMING THEY R WATCHING YOU," according to KCBD-TV.

The crime appears to be a copycat crime. Similar messages warning of zombies were recently left on road signs in Austin, Texas, KCBD-TV reported.

Officials with the Texas Department of Transportation told KCBD-TV the crime could be punishable with up to 10 years of prison or a $10,000 fine.
