Live toddler almost buried

A 3-year-old girl was almost buried alive in Bolivia Monday after her parents, who thought she was dead, prepared for her burial, CNN.com reported.

The girl was suffering from several injuries, including burns on her face and contusions on her body, Jose Carlos Camacho, director of Hospital Universitario Japones in Santa Cruz, told CNN.

A neighbor noticed that the girl was still alive during a six-hour wake arranged by the girl's parents, CNN reported.

The girl is in a coma, but is improving, Camacho told CNN. Her mother and stepfather are in custody on abuse charges.
