Lacrosse brief

Women's lacrosse continues to struggle, lose to Lehigh 21-7

Despite a career-high four goals from freshman Lauren Schoenberger, the Eagles fell for the fifth consecutive game on Saturday, losing to Patriot League rival Lehigh University, 21-7. The loss drops the Eagles to 0-3 in league play and 1-7 overall on the season.

The game started out strong for AU, who jumped out to a 3-2 lead on a goal by Leslie Fischer at the 17:43 mark of the first half.

However, it was all Mountain Hawks throughout the rest of the first half, going on a 9-1 scoring run to take an 11-4 lead into halftime.

The Eagles cut the lead down to only six at 12-6 to start the second half, but this was as close as AU would get for the rest of the match, as Lehigh scored nine of the final 10 goals to win 21-7.

The Eagles look to get back on the winning track when they go on the road to take on George Mason University at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
