Friday, April 3 Discotheque Underground with Jay Style and Ev?a Pearl 9 p.m. WHERE: Smithsonian Institution, 1100 Jefferson Dr. S.W. METRO: Smithsonian (blue and orange lines) INFO: To celebrate the end of the D.C. French cultural festival, the Smithsonian's underground Ripley Concourse transforms into a late night European dance club featuring two of the Francophone world's best-known DJs. Light fare and an open bar are included in the ticket price. COST: $30

Sunday, April 5 Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10-Mile Run 7:50 a.m. WHERE: Washington Monument, 15th Street And Constitution Avenue N.W. METRO: Smithsonian (blue and orange lines) INFO: Entry closed long ago for this beautiful distance race in downtown D.C., but head down to the National Mall to watch the spectacle of hoards of world class and casual runners racing through the blossoms. COST: Free

Monday, April 6 In the Artist's Studio 9 p.m. WHERE: Busboys and Poets, 14th and V Streets N.W. METRO: U Street/African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo (green and yellow lines) INFO: Los Angeles-based performer Erik Rico sits down with a Washington Post writer to discuss his music career. COST: $10, must be purchased in advance

Tuesday, April 7 "Behind the Velvet Curtain: Contemporary Art from the Czech Republic" 11 a.m.-4 p.m. WHERE: Katzen Arts Center METRO: Tenleytown/AU (red line) INFO: This spring exhibit will showcase the work of seven contemporary female Czech artists who explore through a mix of media new conceptions of power after the 1989 Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia. COST: Free
