DJ AM passes away in his N.Y. apartment

On Aug. 28th, Adam Goldstein, famously known as DJ AM, was found dead in his New York apartment at age 36. Friends had become worried days earlier when the DJ ignored calls and visits to his Soho apartment, as well as a flight to a scheduled performance, according to the Los Angeles Times.

DJ AM began his deejaying career at age 20, and he found fame and success after a few years in the business. He mixed for all kinds of stars, such as Jim Carrey, Ben Stiller, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna. In addition, he played at some of the nation's most famous clubs and venues, such as Pure Nightclub, located in the luxurious Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

The death of DJ AM shocked all of his friends, family and fans. Among the many who have mourned the loss of this musical talent are his famous friends, such as ex-girlfriend Mandy Moore, his close friend Travis Barker, as well as Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge (also of Blink-182 fame). It is certain that the world has lost a very musically gifted man whose rise to fame was swift, yet ended tragically.
