Volleyball Briefs

The AU women’s volleyball team finished the season with an unsuccessful trip to the State University of New York at Albany over the holiday weekend. AU fell in straight sets to the Great Danes; 18-25, 16-25, 11-25. Angelina Waterman contributed her fourth double-double of the season to the AU effort with 11 kills and 10 digs. Setter Krysta Cicala added 30 assists, while senior Cynammon Burns had 11 digs on the night. The Eagles finished the season posting a 18-13 record on the season and won’t be making a trip to the NCAA’s for the first time in eight years. AU failed to claim the Patriot League crown a week earlier against Army. However, season highlights included a home win over North Carolina and Berry Goldberg’s 500th win as a head coach.
