Police Blotter: April 5

?A poster of President Obama was discovered missing from a wall in the Marketplace area of the Mary Graydon Center at 6 p.m. ?

March 26?

The Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a fight in Letts/Anderson Quad at 11:20 a.m. Upon arrival, Public Safety saw a group of males standing in the center median of the Quad. There was no evidence anyone was injured. The group was allowed to leave the area. ?

Public Safety responded to a report of an injured person in Bender Arena at 3:42 p.m. The individual signed a medical refusal form. ?

A lamp from a school project rested against a wall and burned a mark on the wall in the Butler Pavilion bookstore stairwell at 11:21 p.m. ?

March 27?? Public Safety responded to a report of an intoxicated individual in Letts Hall at 1:51 p.m. The individual’s roommate indicated the intoxicated individual wanted to go to a hospital. The intoxicated individual indicated she started drinking at an unknown location off campus on Cathedral Street at 11 p.m. and stopped drinking at 1 a.m. Two 750 mL bottles of Smirnoff were in their room. A resident assistant emptied the bottles in the women’s bathroom. D.C. Fire Department transported the intoxicated individual to the hospital. ?

Student #1 reported hearing a loud argument between a male and a female in a nearby room in Anderson Hall at 2:44 a.m. Public Safety responded and found the room occupied by student #2 and visitor #1. Reportedly, the occupants raised their voices during a verbal disagreement. Student #2 stated visitor #1 slapped him and he pushed her back. Neither of them wanted to file any charges. A resident director and resident assistant advised visitor #1 to vacate the residence hall. She complied. ?

Student #1 reported her phone was stolen at 3:02 a.m. while she attended a party off campus. She did not know the address of the party. She stated she used the phone at 1:15 a.m. while attending the party. She realized it was missing when she received a call from individual #2 on her roommate’s phone. Individual #2 advised an unidentified individual had the phone and was using it to call him. Student #3 was with individual #1 throughout the night. The Metropolitan Police Department responded. ??

A complainant reported his coat was taken from a handrail while he attended an AU swim team party at a private residence off campus at 10:02 a.m. His wallet and an iPod were in the coat. ??

While on routine patrol, Public Safety witnessed an unidentified individual in possession of suspected marijuana outside Ward Circle Building at 11:31 a.m. The suspect dropped two cigarette butts and fled on foot. Public Safety recovered the butts. The butts tested positive for marijuana. ?

Public Safety responded to a report of an injured person in the Sports Center at 12:03 p.m. The individual signed a medical refusal form. ??

An unattended wallet was reported as taken at 2:17 a.m. from a table in MGC. The wallet contained bank cards which were used fraudulently. 

DCFD transported an injured person from Bender Arena to the hospital at 4:41 p.m. ??

DCFD transported a sick person from Anderson Hall to the hospital at 11:44 p.m. ??

March 28

Public Safety responded to a report of an intoxicated individual in Nebraska Hall at 1:21 a.m. The individual was incoherent and vomiting. When asked what year it was she replied, “1999.” She stated she started drinking at 7 p.m. at the Berkshire Apartments and at another off-campus location. She stated she consumed a bottle of rum and some tequila. A medical refusal form was signed. ??

While on routine patrol, Public Safety discovered a Plexiglas fire alarm pull station cover torn from a wall on the ground level of the Sports Center at 9:44 a.m. The alarm was not sounding. No smoke or fire was detected. ?

Public Safety responded to Congressional Hall for an injured person at 6:38 p.m. The injury occurred near the Kogod School of Business. A medical refusal form was signed. A cab voucher was issued. ??

Public Safety, Facilities Management and DCFD responded to a report of a stuck elevator in Letts Hall at 11:40 p.m. DCFD freed the individuals from the elevator. No injuries were reported. ??

A professor discovered a door with a broken windowpane in McKinley Building and notified Public Safety at 11:29 p.m. Sprinkles of blood were noticed from the room with the broken pane to a restroom around the corner. Facilities Management and Aramark were notified. ?

March 29?

Three brass and copper backflow preventers, which were secured in a mechanical room, were discovered missing from Osborn Building at 9:50 a.m. ??

A University laptop was reported as taken from a parked vehicle in Sports Center Garage at 12:30 p.m. 

?DCFD transported a sick person from the tunnel shops to the hospital at 2:49 p.m.

Reportedly, a resident assistant was working the front desk of Congressional Hall when an individual advised him someone was peeking into residence hall rooms at 4:49 p.m. A description of the individual was given to the resident assistant. The resident assistant notified Public Safety. Public Safety found an individual walking around residence hall windows. The individual matched the description provided by the resident assistant. The individual denied looking into windows and claimed to be on his way to 7-Eleven. Public Safety issued the individual a barring notice. ??

DCFD transported a sick person from the tunnel to the hospital at 8:41 p.m. The individual stated he had no identification in his possession. ??

March 31

An elevator technician responded and freed an individual from a stuck elevator in the School of International Service building at 2:16 p.m. No injuries were reported.
