TV Pick: Gossip Girl

After six seasons of backstabbing and drama on “Gossip Girl,” the Upper East Side is tumbling down into chaos, bringing the characters with it.

In the sixth and final season, Serena (Blake Lively), Blair (Leighton Meester), Dan (Penn Badgley), Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Nate (Chace Crawford) continue the endless cycle of crazy escapades of betrayal, lust and glamour. But a show that had once been an escape for an hour has now become mundane and expected.

As much as we once loved living vicariously in this silly but enchanting world, it no longer has the charm it did, so it is almost a relief that the end is nearing.

The final season of “Gossip Girl” finds Serena and Blair fighting, Blair and Chuck finding their way to one another and Dan Humphrey as the outsider. If you’re thinking nothing has quite changed since season one, you’re correct.

But a lot is about to, as it has been hinted that we will see not one but two weddings with the series finale. And hopefully the show will finally deliver on one of its biggest secrets: who in fact is Gossip Girl?
