Looks like the "Harlem Shake" craze has finally hit AU.
Students from AU's dance group, AU in Motion, orchestrated a huge flash mob Feb. 15 to dance to the song "Harlem Shake" by electro artist Baauer.
The song went viral a few weeks ago when a group of friends made a video dancing spastically (and definitely not doing the actual Harlem shake dance) along to the song for about 30 seconds. Since then, plenty of imitation videos have cropped up, from people like Jon Stewart and the UGA Swim Team, who performed the dance underwater.
In the AU version, mascot Clawed starts off the dance, for the first few seconds, then is joined by hundreds of students who are wearing chicken costumes, panda costumes or hardly anything at all.
According to the Facebook event for the AU "Harlem Shake" video, about 395 students said they would join the flash mob and dance along to the song.

Clawed kicked off another round of the now-famous dance craze at the AU men's basketball game against Holy Cross on Feb. 17.
During halftime, Clawed jumped in the middle of the court and started dancing to the now-infamous opening lyrics "Con los terroristas."
As soon as the bass dropped, members of the AU Cheer Squad and Dance Team flooded the court, dancing all around Clawed.
The men's team ended up winning the game, maybe thanks to a little halftime morale booster.
