AU swimming team records top five finishes

The Eagles’ Kilian Korth won the men’s 500 yard freestyle with a finish of 4:46.61. In the same
event, Dylan Rasnick timed in at 4:48.31, placing fourth and Ryan Richards finished at 4:48.98
earning fifth place.

Rasnick also took the title in the 1650 yard freestyle with a score of 16:36.19, beating his old
time by more than four seconds.
The 50 yard freestyle saw Matt Wurm place third at 22.04 and Bobby Ballance finish fourth at
22.09.

Ballance beat out his opponents to win the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 52.19

Wurm barely missed a first place finish in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle, missing out by just
four one hundredths of a second and eight one hundredths of a second, respectively.
On the women’s side Paris Wood took the victory in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of
2:10.09

The women’s 50 yard freestyle saw Paris Wood, Alyssa Colasurdo and Julianna Cavano finish
in the top 10. Wood’s time of 25.42 was good for third. Colasurdo and Cavano finished eighth
and ninth, respectively, with times of 25.69 and 25.70.

In the 100 yard freestyle Cavano placed sixth with a time of 55.02 and Wood placed eighth with
a time of 55.40. Cavano was the lone Eagle to place in the top 10 of the women’s 200 yard
freestyle with a score of 1:59.10.

Melissa Parker took the title in the three meter dive with a score of 227.55

The Eagles return to action on Oct. 18 at Howard University.
