Easy, homemade Halloween costume ideas

It’s not worth breaking the bank on a Halloween costume you can only wear a few times. So save that Chipotle fund, and create a costume from items in your dorm.

The Scene has compiled a list of seven easy-to-make Halloween costume ideas for anyone with creativity dilemmas.

Kim Possible
Pair cargo pants with a black cropped t-shirt and wear black gloves and sneakers. For those without red hair, find a red wig to complete the outfit.

Athlete
Wear your favorite sports jersey with leggings or athletic shorts and claim to be Brady, Kobe or Lionel Messi. Break out the extra gear to really sell the deal – whether it’s a helmet, a baseball bat or a hockey stick.
But this isn’t limited to the big sports. Wear a swimsuit and go as Missy Franklin or Michael Phelps. Or sport a polo and khakis and be Tiger Woods. Tennis clothes work too, for Roger Federer or one of the Williams sisters.

Mummy
A mummy costume can be easily made by using toilet paper from the bathroom. With a friend’s help, wrap up and get ready for the party.

Secret Service Agent
Put on your best business casual suit with dark sunglasses and a bluetooth earpiece to quickly be one of the president’s bodyguards.

Diva/Rockstar
For the girls, use over-the-top clothes- sparkly dress, crazy shoes or a ridiculous combination of garments – and pair them with a feather boa and obnoxious jewelry. Sunglasses are a necessity, as well as a little dog in a bag, if possible.
For the guys, wear lots of black, especially if it’s ripped. Use gel to spike hair and sunglasses are required. This can easily be altered to be a rapper by wearing lots of bling and a flat-brimmed hat.

Hippy
This one works best for the girls. Pair a long flowy skirt with a flowy top, some big hoop earrings, lots of jewelry and a bandana or flower headband.

Ninja
To make an easy ninja costume, wear a long sleeved black shirt so only your face shows through the neck hole. Pull the shirt up to cover your nose and fold it in, so that only your eyes and forehead are visible. Tie the sleeves behind your head to achieve the perfect ninja head covering. Wear all black, and carry ninja stars or a sword if you’ve got them.

If all else fails, wear a little black dress and animal ears.
