Junior Nick Regan led the AU cross country team in the NCAA Mid Atlantic Regionals on Nov. 15 in Bethlehem, Pa.
Regan, a 2013 All Patriot League First team honoree, finished 29th overall for the 10k race with a time 30:57. This finish marks the fifth time during the fall season in which Regan has been the highest finishing Eagle on the men’s team.
Following Regan was freshman Brendan Johnson who placed 54th overall with a time of 31:32.
Senior John Pope was the next Eagle to cross the finish line, completing the race with a time of 31:56 and placing 70th overall. Johnson and Pope were both selections of the 2013 all Patriot League Second Team.
The final two men to race for the Eagles were sophomore Joshua Ellis in 74th and junior Tom Woermer in 85th with respective times of 32:02 and 32:13.
The men’s team finished in 12th place out of 26 schools with a total of 312 points. Villanova University finished in first place for both the men’s and women’s teams with 34 and 31 points respectively.
On the women’s side, the Eagles were led by senior Julia Sullivan with a time of 21:18 finishing 42nd overall in the 6k race. After Sullivan came freshman Corina Velazco finishing 81st overall with a time of 21:52. Rounding out the AU racers was senior Krystal foster placing 98th with a time of 22:04.
