a three game winning streak.
Despite trailing (3-1, 0-0 PL) a comeback looked likely as the Eagles tied six times throughout the contest.
Quinnipiac (2-3, 0-0 MAAC) initially gained control with the score set at 6-2, however senior guard Alexis Dobbs scored a swift three pointer taking the game to 10-8. Bobcat Samantha Guastella quickly did the same to get her side back in control, however AU answered to lead by one at the 11:05 mark thanks to a layup from sophomore Michelle Holmes. The Eagles pushed forward, as a combined effort from Dobbs and junior guard Jen Dumiak lead to 21-19 advantage with less than eight to play.
The Eagles led 27-25 after a three by senior forward Sarah Kiely, but quickly lost the lead after Quinnipiac went on a 5-0 run. Dobbs continued score points only to be overlooked as Morgan Manz gave the Bobcats a four point lead heading into the break up.
In the second half, AU continued its attack as junior forward Shaquilla Curtis made a free throw to tie up the game 42-42 at 14:04. Despite tying the score, the Bobcats fought back and regained the lead 52-49 at 10:30 in the second.
The score was tied at 66 with 35 seconds left in the game after a layup from senior guard Gelisia George.
AU called for a time out with six seconds remaining on the clock in hopes of scoring, but with two seconds left, a foul called on George gave Quinnipiac the advantage. Two late free throws by Gillian Abshire sealed the game and the Bobcats earned their second win of the season.
The Eagles will seek to get back in the win column at Fordham on Nov. 25.
