AU’s Director of Residence Life Rick Treter stepped down from his position this past December after 16 years of service.
“Mr. Treter decided to relocate to his home state of Texas to be closer to his family,” Assistant Vice President for Housing and Dining Programs Christopher Moody in an email.
According to Moody, Treter was responsible for overseeing most activities within the residence halls, including:
● programs available in each hall
● roommate conflicts
● establishment of hall policies
● and supervision of Resident Assistants and Resident Directors on call
He also oversaw multi-million dollar budgets as well as the residential staff, Moody said in an email.
Moody said AU hopes to hire a new director by June and until a new director is hired, Moody will work directly with the residence life staff.
“He will be missed my many at the university and his footprint on our campus and in the residence halls will be felt for years to come,” Moody said in an email.
