Holi returns to the Quad

The South Asian Student Association will hold their annual Holi celebration from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on April 6.

Holi, the Hindu Festival of Colors, will be celebrated by students gathering to throw dry paint at each other and into the air while being sprayed with water guns and hoses. The event will be DJed by professional DJ Naiem Reza, who is taking requests on the Facebook event page . Naiem has worked with Kanye West’s music label, GOOD Music.

College of Arts and Sciences sophomore Palak Bhatnagar, who has helped planned the event said that this year, SASA had to order more than three times the amount of paint used last year, as well as more than 60 water guns to meet this year’s anticipated demand.

“The board has worked hard to promote this event and we’re hoping for a huge turnout.” Bhatnagar said.

SASA decided to postpone the festival, which was technically on March 17, until the weather warmed up.

Holi on the Quad starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Apr. 6.

Section 202 hosts Connor Sturniolo and Gabrielle McNamee are joined by fellow Eagle staff member and phenomenal sports photographer, Josh Markowitz. Follow along as they discuss the United Football League and the benefits it provides for the world of professional football.
