Man injured in car accident on Nebraska Avenue

EMTs attended to a male after a car rear-ended another car while traveling northeast on Nebraska Avenue between Ward Circle and the Nebraska Shuttle Stop on Sept. 4.

The man had “no visible injuries,” Metropolitan Police Department officer Martinez said. Martinez only gave his last name.

The male wore a neck brace and was strapped onto a stretcher before being moved into the ambulance. The ambulance did not immediately leave with the man.

There were no other reported injuries, Martinez said.

The accident took place at 4:51 p.m., Martinez said.

MPD is still determining if an accident report will be made, according to Martinez.

The Metropolitan Police Department and D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services were first to arrive at the scene, and EMTs arrived shortly thereafter with an ambulance. Traffic was backed up in both directions while officials dealt with the situation.
