Student allegedly assaulted in Jacobs Fitness Center

An AU student sustained minor injuries in an assault reported to Public Safety on May 16. The assault occurred in the male locker room of Jacobs Fitness Center at approximately 5:00 p.m, according to a Crime Alert.

The victim reported to Public Safety and the Metropolitan Police Department that a 6-foot-2, heavy set, black male, was tampering with lockers. When this man saw the victim watching, he allegedly punched the victim several times, according to the alert.

Public Safety was not available to comment on the incident at the time of publication.

The suspect was described as bald and in his mid 30’s with a medium length beard. He was reportedly wearing an orange shirt and black shorts at the time of the assault.
