U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson will speak at AU on Oct. 27 at 5:30 p.m. in an event sponsored by the Kennedy Political Union and the School of Public Affairs.
Johnson became secretary in December 2013 and has presided over the Department of Homeland Security since then, according to a release from KPU. Before that, he was general counsel for the Department of Defense, where he was part of the management of 10,000 lawyers and the co-author of a report that supported the eventual repeal of the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.
The event will take place in room one of the Ward Circle Building, according to the release.
The speech is open to AU students and faculty with a University ID and a ticket. Seating is limited and tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis on KPU’s Eventbrite page.
