BREAKING: Stabbing near Tenleytown AU shuttle stop

Juvenile male stabbed at 3:27 pm

A juvenile male was stabbed outside the Sears appliance showroom in Tenleytown, steps away from AU’s blue line shuttle stop, just before 3:30 pm today, according to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Office of Public Information.

At 3:27pm, Metro Police Department received a call about a young man who had been stabbed on the 4500 block of 40th Street NW, according to Officer Sean Hickman of the Metro Police Department.

“Juvenile male is conscious and breathing,” according to Hickman as of 5:29 pm.

MPD is asking residents to be on the lookout for two Hispanic males with white complexions ages 16-17 years old. Suspect one is said to be approximately 120 lbs, and a height of five feet, six inches. He is said to be wearing a black and green jacket. Suspect two is said to be weighing in at approximately 130 lbs. The information has also been released on MPD’s Twitter feed.

The University declined to comment on the situation as it was not made aware of the situation until later in the afternoon, according to Director of Public Relations Kelly Alexander.
