Actor, producer, director and political activist Tony Goldwyn will speak at the Kennedy Political Union’s All-American Weekend event on Oct. 22, KPU announced today in a press release.
Goldwyn, known for his role as President Fitzgerald Grant on the television show “Scandal,” is also well-known for many other acting credits including appearances in the films “Ghost,” “Nixon,” “The Last Samurai” and as the voice of Tarzan in the animated Disney feature.
On television, Goldwyn has also appeared on “The Good Wife,” “Dexter,” “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” and “Fraiser” among numerous others. He has also directed episodes of “Justified,” “Law & Order,” “Damages,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Dexter” and “The L Word.”
Recently, Goldwyn co-created and will executive produce a new series titled “The Divide” for AMC Studios which was picked up by the WE Network. In addition, he will star in the upcoming film “Insurgent” of the “Divergent” series.
“Goldwyn has taken an active role in this year’s political cycle, making him a timely figure on campus,” SG Associate Secretary Kris Schneider said in a press release. “He additionally brings a unique perspective to our campus’ discourse on both politics and entertainment, and how the two fields relate in 2016.”
This event will take place in Bender Arena and will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free for all current AU students with a valid AU ID. Tickets for alumni and parents are available for purchase for $12 on the All-American Weekend website.
