Their panel discussion will focus on women and minorities in today’s political climate

Political strategist Ana Navarro and political operative Patti Solis Doyle will join a panel discussion on Thursday, Oct. 6 to discuss the current political climate in regards to women and minority groups, the Kennedy Political Union announced today.

Navarro, who immigrated to the U.S. from Nicaragua in 1980, has built her career around aiding Hispanics in the U.S. She served as the National co-chair of John McCain’s Hispanic Advisory Council and more recently held the same position for Utah Governor Jon Huntsman’s 2012 campaign.

Solis Doyle also speaks on the position of Hispanic Americans in politics, as well as that of women and other minority groups. She served as chief of staff of vice presidential operations in the 2008 Obama for America campaign, and in 2012 she served as an advisor to the Obama-Biden campaign.

Both Navarro and Solis Doyle are contributors to CNN, while Navarro also contributes to CNN en Español and ABC News.

They will speak at 7 p.m. in the Tavern in MGC. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and students can present an AU ID for free admission.
