Looking for a way to explore a famous D.C. museum after hours? Look no further than the Newseum. Following the museum’s sold out cherry blossom event in April, the Newseum Nights series returns July 27 with Newseum Nights: Rock On.
Newseum Nights: Rock On is a celebration of all things ‘80s with music, food, cocktails and makeovers inspired by the decade. Guests can have their caricatures drawn, play board games from The Board Room or snap photos in a photobooth, all while enjoying an open bar and checking out museum exhibits. One must-see exhibit on display, Louder Than Words, examines the connection between rock and politics, so check it out before it closes on July 31. Popular D.C. restaurants &pizza and Jaleo will also hold giveaways throughout the night.
The event takes place at the Newseum from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m and is exclusively for ages 21 and older. Tickets for Newseum members are $48, while general admission tickets for non-members cost $60. However, you can become a museum member for $75, which then earns you free admission to the museum for a year, invitations to special events and more, including a free Newseum Nights ticket and early admission at 7 p.m.
Tickets and more information are available on the Newseum’s website. Whether you’re an ‘80s enthusiast or a news fanatic, this is a summer event you don’t want to miss.
