#TheFoodMove: Tenley Bar & Grill

A college town sports bar with elevated dishes

Our weekly search for restaurants that probably aren’t on your radar. As young, broke college kids we will bring you our honest reviews of affordable restaurants in dope neighborhoods. Have any suggestions for #TheFoodMove? Use #TheMoveAU and shoot us an email TheMoveAU@gmail.com.

From the outside, Tenley Bar & Grill looks like a tiny basement of a rundown building. But as soon as you walk through the doors, TB&G has a homey sports bar feel. With a large projector upfront, and close to a dozen flat-screen TVs, you’ll always be up to date with all the latest games.

Not a sports fan? No problem, TB&G still deserves a visit for their quality classic American food.

With the help of Josh Anthony (a true #FriendOfTheMove) we did our best to find you all the best food they serve.

We started with the Tenley Nachos, made from homemade corn tortilla chips, onions, cheese, beans, pico de gallo and sour cream. These nachos were totally solid, but nothing exceptional.

We first shared the 2AM Burger, a grass-fed Black Angus Beef patty topped with crispy bacon, fried egg, avocado and mayo. We then moved onto the AU BBQ Burger, another grass-fed Black Angus Beef patty, this time loaded with crispy onion, white cheddar, mayo and hickory BBQ sauce. We ended our meal with the Chipotle Black Bean Burger. This time, it was a Spicy Black Bean patty with lettuce, tomato, and remoulade sauce.

All these burgers definitely hit the spot for us, and it’s hard for us to say which was best. With so many options, we recommend you check out TB&G, especially as football season picks up, to either catch a game in a sports-centered environment, or enjoy a solid American meal.
