Democratic Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey will speak with School of Public Affairs professor James A. Thurber on Jan. 29 at a virtual event co-hosted by SPA, the Kennedy Political Union and the United States Capitol Historical Society.
SPA and KPU announced the event on social media Monday.
The event will be the first of the James A. Thurber Dialogues on American Democracy, a series of conversations with leading political officials and experts to be moderated by Thurber. The series is also set to feature journalist Anne Applebaum in February and political scientist Robert Putnam in March, according to the registration page.
The conversation with Booker, who is the author of “United: Thoughts on Finding Common Ground and Advancing the Common Good,” will focus on democratic vitality, as well as threats to the American experiment that may impede a “more perfect union.”
The event will take place at 6 p.m. EST, and registration is free for all students.
