Round Up: ‘One Pot’ recipes to try while working from home

The best and easiest recipes that only need one pot to make while working, studying or just relaxing at home

When you’re working or studying from home, there’s nothing better than being able to take a break and curl up with a good book or show and something warm to relax.

But sometimes the foods we crave during quarantine can just take too much energy, ingredients or supplies to make. These five recipes only require one pot to make and are the perfect, easy solution.

Vegetarian Chili

One of the best ways to “chill” while in quarantine is with some good vegetarian chili. This dish is easy to make and even better to eat, with all you need mixed up in just one pot and ready to be served to friends, classmates or family afterwards. With onion, red bell pepper, beans and cheese or cilantro to serve with, this vegetarian chili will only take around one hour to make and is sure to thoroughly satisfy your hunger afterward.

Beef Stew

Though making this meal definitely requires a little more effort than some of the other foods on this list, cooking it in one pot still makes it a convenient option. Beef stew is like nostalgia wrapped up in one warm meal and will make your busy day or night feel a little more like home, no matter where in the world you are. Although the recipe calls for dry red wine, beef broth makes for an easy substitute if needed, and the beef stew itself makes for the perfect meal to end your day.

Spaghetti

Next up on this list is a classic dish that needs only a few ingredients and — as with the other recipes listed — only one pot. This spaghetti recipe is perfect for those nights where you want a filling meal but don’t have a lot of time to make one, and the meat sauce and seasoning on this dish make for the perfect meal to try while working or studying from home.

Chicken Noodle Soup

No list of classic and easy recipes could be complete without chicken noodle soup, and this recipe makes the dish easy to gather and cook in just one pot. Requiring only one crockpot and a few other ingredients, this meal is a classic that will have you feeling warm inside and out for any day or night while in quarantine.

Garlic Herb Potatoes

This recipe can serve as more of an appetizer or side dish but is still just as filling as the other meals listed. To make these garlic potatoes, you’ll only need an instant pot or pressure cooker, and a few ingredients to cook and season the dish. What’s even better about this dish is that it only takes a few minutes to make — quick, easy and the perfect snack or compliment to a cooked steak or chicken meal.

During quarantine, it can be hard to find the motivation to do much of anything. Between school, extracurricular activities and work, it’s easy to get caught up in day-to-day life. Whether it’s a busy school day you’re having or a long night that needs a good meal, you can use these easy-to-cook recipes that will make your day a little better no matter where you are.
