Tiffany Coll will not return as head coach of American University’s women’s basketball team according to a statement from Director of Athletics and Recreation JM Caparro. Her departure follows an 87-53 first-round defeat in the Patriot League tournament to Lafayette on March 8.
In her three years at the helm, Coll had a 20-71 record. The Eagles went 1-29 in the 2024-25 season, with their only win coming against Lafayette on Jan. 29.
Coll was named the 14th head coach in program history in 2022 after spending nine years with the Eagles, including four as associate head coach. In those nine years, the program amassed three Patriot League titles.
“I want to express my sincere appreciation for the dedication and effort Tiffany has put into the program,” Caparro said in an Athletics Department statement. “I wish her the best in her future endeavors.”
The Athletics Department declined to comment further.
