Appreciating African culture through fashion in 'Black Panther'

Weeks after hitting theaters, audiences’ love for Director Ryan Coogler’s “Black Panther” is still going strong: the film has made over $520 million domestically, making the list of top 10 highest-grossing films in the United States of all time. The film received praise for its positive representation of race, gender and culture.

Creative writing graduate aims to publish novel by crowdfunding

Claire Handscombe, a 2015 graduate from the MFA Creative Writing Program, is crowdfunding her first novel with London-based publisher Unbound. Handscombe’s novel, “Unscripted,” is a realistic fiction book following the relationship between Libby, an aspiring British novelist, and Thom Cassidy, an actor whom Libby is fixated upon. Handscombe began writing as a child while growing up in Belgium.
