Preview: AASU Presents: Awkwafina

You read that right: Nora “Awkwafina” Lum is coming to AU. You may recognize the hilarious Asian American rapper and television personality from her debut album “Yellow Ranger” (2014) or her appearances on MTV’s “Girl Code” and “Neighbors 2.” On the other hand, perhaps you haven’t heard of her and you think you’d much rather spend another Friday night watching movies or going out with some friends who promised to split a Lyft with you. Save yourself from the same old routine and make sure you’re in the crowd during this show. Awkwafina will be performing in MGC’s Tavern on Friday, April 7 at 9 p.m., hosted by the Asian American Student Union.

Foxygen electrifies the 9:30 Club

The California duo, Foxygen, brought its infectious pop energy to the 9:30 Club on March 22. Playing a relatively short 13-song set list, the group didn’t miss the mark on presenting its latest album “Hang,” released in January.

Review: Expansive Drake playlist ‘More Life’ extends borders of hip-hop

On his new musical project, Aubrey “Drake” Graham, the artist who has merged the sound of hip-hop and pop music over the past several years, now adds additional new musical elements to the mix. “More Life,” the sixth solo entry by Drake, is as much a reflection of the October’s Very Own (OVO) record label chief as it is of what the Canadian artist has been listening to.
