Interview: Kings of the 'Castle'

Kal Penn and John Cho are running late for their interview. It's easy to make assumptions about the people in the movie business but this is the first major press circuit for both of them. D.C. is the midway point on their 11 stop national press circuit and here in The Ritz Carlton Georgetown, they are set to sit for a brief last minute interview before they move on.

Scissor Sisters cut down generic labels

"We're poised to be the gay Matchbox Twenty," Del Marquis, guitarist for the rock band the Scissor Sisters, proclaimed in a phone interview. "It's weird because we're a little bit more of a cult pop act here in the U.K. and Europe, and in the States we're going to be one of those pop acts with a successful single, and then everybody realizes what you look like.

Recent grad produces and directs

Kristen Cornwall, who graduated this May with a degree in theater, began the summer intending to direct a show. She planned on eventually going to graduate school for directing, then starting her own theater company some time five years down the line. But a twist of fate and some disappointing producers changed her plans.

Washington, D.C. is not a cheap city. Compared to smaller cities and towns, the overall cost of living can be intimidating. However, there are ways of getting around these expenses. 'Maria Full of Grace,' full of talent

At the very least, "Maria Full of Grace" is educational. At its best, the film is like its main character - fresh, riveting and strong. This tale of a Colombian girl who becomes a drug "mule" will move audiences.
