On the evening of Sept. 11th, the National Basketball Hall of Fame welcomed arguably the best class in its 50-year history. While the women have had some surprise success this year, there has been more vindication for the men. Men's soccer had a strong season last year, finishing 9-7-3, but was unable to advance past Holy Cross in the Patriot League semifinals. This year, the team has shown it can compete with the best teams, beating No. 19 George Mason in the D.C. Cup. After the victory, Soccer America voted the Eagles as the 23rd best team in the country.
This offseason has been clouded by crime, indecision and a 26-year-old named Jay Cutler who cried like a child to be traded. We've seen Donte Stallworth suspended for a DUI Vehicular Manslaughter incident, Plaxico Burress cut from the Giants after shooting himself in the leg and Michael Vick finally get back on the field with a different kind of bird on his helmet. There have been coaching changes, trades and the draft, but it seems like it was all overshadowed by the increasing discord in the NFL. I won't name names, Michael Crabtree, but certain players are focusing less on helping their team win and more on getting $38 million right out of college.

In case you haven't heard, Brett Favre is getting ready to start the regular season as a member of the Minnesota Vikings. Thanks to the good people at ESPN, this off-season has been the most Favre-filled since, well, last year. It is a shame that with the regular season just two weeks away, Favre has captured the headlines again.
